about the artist

Janine Bowen has been active in the Fashion/Entertainment  since 1998 and worked as an artist and trainer for MAC Cosmetics from 1999 to 2010.  Working at MAC allowed her the opportunity to work with many great artists, furthering her knowledge in the field. She describes her make-up style as naturally-chic. "I don't believe make-up should be used to camouflage a person's beauty, it should enhance and celebrate it".

In 1998 Janine started her company jnb arts to promote her services and as an umbrella for other make-up artists in the Toronto area. Since the inception of her company she has had the opportunity to work with many budding hopefuls and veterans ranging from photographers, directors, actors, singers and designers.

Janine completed her formal training at George Brown College and continues to stay current by attending various make-up classes and seminars. With a background in Human Services working as a social worker, she feels the skills and training she obtained have been invaluable to her work as a make-up artist.

Janine can be quoted as saying, “people skills are essential in all industries especially when working closely with the public. I often spend a great deal of my time listening to the personal experiences of my clients. When you know how to listen actively it makes them feel much more comfortable and I can really make a connection with that person". The artist promises many great things from jnb arts in the coming years and encourages you to stay posted.
